Help Me Update

This past weekend Son decided to help me upgrade my computer. I was using Millennium Edition, and he prefers XP; when he fixes things for me, he really gets frustrated with the old version. I think he also wanted to do one from start to finish, as in his work he is more likely to be fixing than installing.
In any case, we had some brand new XP software, as well as Office 2003. We were all legal, and we were going in style.
We copied my user files onto zip discs and completely reformatted my computer. The software dialed its own number to register, and then I was able to locate my own ISP. This gets easier all the time. I’m getting used to the differences and choosing the features I like. I’ve put back the files I created. Call me weird; I enjoy this. I even saved my mailboxes from Outlook Express.
There’s one thing I didn’t save – my online favorites. In most cases, it’s a matter of “you found them once, you can add them again.” But I had made a little folder of “Former Diaryland Buddies.” And those are not so obvious.
So I’m asking all of you, if you’ve created a new page at scribblejournal or something like that, would you please tell me again? Guestbook, Notes, or e-mail – whatever works best for you. Thank you.
Not too long ago, I wrote about Adecco and its current problems with the economy and business shifts. Last week I had a phone call from the local office, which is closing. They had to notify both me and Bosslawyer that our new home office will be in another town – different phone numbers and so forth. The lady who has been my contact for the past five years is leaving the company. We discussed how the business has changed, both from her point of view and mine. In My Last Good Job, I had hired temps on occasion; we were generally happy to pay a little more for better workers. No agency ever tested me better than Adecco.
I presented myself to yet another doctor today, to see whether he could alleviate the pain when I sit. He thinks he can, with exercises to realign what I’ve done to my posture over the years. Stretch this muscle, tighten the opposing one; some physical therapy and some exercises I can do by myself. Anything is better than not being able to sit.
I’m feeling hopeful.
