Yet Another Questionnaire
Fri., August 20, 10:29 AM
I first saw this quiz at Golfwidow’s page, but it seems to be making the rounds of my buddies. I, of course, must join in. Seems to me I’ve discussed some of these subjects before.
- Were you named after anyone?
We always name babies for someone. See What's in a Name?. Specifically, I am named for my maternal grandmother. - Do you wish on stars? I used to, but not much any more. I can’t wish for myself, only for others.
- Which finger is your favorite?
Never really thought about it. The pinkies are usually the prettiest, because they do the least work. - When did you last cry? a really good cry?
I get weepy for so many little things that I seldom have the need for a really good cry. Frustration, once in a while, usually with Husband. And he never notices, even if I cry in his presence. - Do you like your handwriting?
Not really. I can’t write as fast as I think, so I usually mess up. If it has to look nice, I usually print. (Library training.) I do like my signature. - What's your favorite lunch meat?
Pastrami - Any bad habits?
Don’t we all? Procrastination, I guess, is the worst. - What is your most embarrassing CD on the shelf?
Do I have any CD’s? Yeah, I guess I have a few, but none of them embarrass me. - If you were another person, would you be friends with you?
Sure. I’m clever and fun to be with. I keep myself amused all the time. - Have you ever told a secret you swore not to tell?
I don’t think so; I would be disinclined to do such a thing. But it’s unlikely because, in any case, I don’t make promises I don’t think I can keep. So I wouldn’t swear not to tell unless I was sure that I never would. - Do looks matter?
Yes, they do, to this extent: your appearance is usually the first thing a new acquaintance encounters. If you make a bad first impression, it’s harder to live it down. - How do you release anger?
When? At whom? If it happens at home, I yell; then it’s usually over. When I’m really angry, I write. Some of what I write you will never see! - Where is your second home?
Don’t have one any more. I’m home almost all the time these days. - Do you trust others easily?
I always want to, but I’ve been burned too often to believe everything I hear. - What was your favorite toy as a child?
It must have been books. If I tell you I would rather be alone than play with the kids in our neighborhood, you’d think I was a snob. You’d probably be right. - What class in school do you think is totally useless?
It seems to me that even the classes I hated were useful eventually. Maybe drawing, since I never could do it and still can’t. (My apologies, Boxx.) - Do you use sarcasm a lot?
I thank God that I do. It keeps me from being totally insulting (because the jacki usually don’t get it). If you don’t think so, read almost anything I’ve written about Mr. Dubya. - Have you ever been in a mosh pit?
Why would I ever? I value my hearing. I don’t like strangers coming too near me physically. I don’t like people losing control. - What do you look for in a guy/girl?
After thirty-plus years, I’m hardly in the market. A sense of humor, I guess, and an IQ higher than 80. - What are your nicknames?
Never had one that stuck. I used to try to find a nickname, because I disliked my given name, but now that it matches Husband’s, it’s not an issue. You’ll find that in What's in a Name too. - Would you bungee jump?
Are you crazy? - Do you think that you are strong willed?
When necessary. - What's your favorite ice cream flavor?
Coffee. There are some fancy coffee ice creams that are quite good, but I’m quite happy with Stop & Shop’s store brand. - Shoe Size?
I’m not sure, after seeing it change after pregnancy and so forth. It’s hard to believe I wore 5½ (medium narrow) for years. I think it’s now 7 extra wide. - What are your favourite colours?
For what purpose? I like to wear blue, and I like it around me. But I don’t like blue food or blue dishes. For all-round versatility, every shade of green. - What is your least favourite thing?
Stupidity. Ignorance. The absolute unwillingness to learn or even consider another viewpoint. - How many wisdom teeth do you have?
None. Just one more time my childhood dentist goofed, because I asked him and he said they’d erupt eventually. Sure they did, impacted. My jaw used to lock if I yawned too wide; the dentist said I wasn't relaxed, but removing the wisdom teeth cured that problem. It also made my face thinner – the only “cosmetic surgery” I’ve ever had. - How many people have a crush on you right now?
If anyone has, he hasn’t told me. - What color pants are you wearing?
Blue, of course. - What are you listening to right now?
The air conditioner. (The radio was on a timer, and it went off a little while ago.) - Last thing you ate?
A bagel and coffee and all my morning pills. - If you were a crayon, what color would you be?
For what purpose? Depends on what I’m coloring. Blue, probably. - What is the weather like right now?
Cloudy. Very muggy. That’s why I’m sitting in here with the AC. - Last person you talked to on the phone?
My sister. But U.D. will be calling very shortly. - The first thing you notice about the opposite sex?
Eyes. - How are you today?
A little achy, because of the humidity. I’m sure I’ll survive. - Favourite drink?
Coffee. Maybe a good unflavored carbonated water. - Favourite alcoholic drink?
I’m really not supposed to drink alcohol any more, but I wouldn’t mind a little wine – sauterne, I think. - Favourite Sport?
Women’s basketball. See Here Comes Basketball. - Hair colour?
It used to be brown. Salt-and-pepper? My wig is gray. - Eye colour?
Blue-gray. Sometimes green. They change according to what I’m wearing. - Do you wear contacts?
No. I couldn’t afford them back in the day. They wouldn’t solve my problems now. (Didn’t you read about my last visit to the eye doctor?) - Siblings?
One brother, one sister, both younger. One brother-in-law who leaves a lot to be desired. Two ex-sisters-in law somewhere. - Favourite food?
Ice cream. - Last movie you watched?
I saw “Gosford Park” on A&E last Sunday. I hope this series runs more movies I wanted to see. I think it’s “American Beauty” next Sunday. - What is your favorite day of the year?
For what purpose? For a family get-together, I’ll still take Thanksgiving. My birthday’s usually pretty good. - Are you too shy to ask someone out?
I used to be. Maybe I wouldn’t be now. The situation doesn’t arise. - Scary movies or happy endings?
Happy, of course. (I just wrote about scary movies too.) - Hugs or kisses?
Hugs are always nice. - What are your current Living Arrangements?
Husband and my oldest daughter, cramped into a three-bedroom house. (I guess you didn’t read about Raised Cheesebox.) - What's on your mouse pad?
I threw out the mouse pads when I got the optical mouse. They were always falling off the desk. - Favourite board game?
Scrabble. - What did you watch on TV last night?
“Cold Case Files,” the documentary one on A&E. “CSI” reran one I don’t like. - Favourite Smell?
Roses? I don’t like any one scent too strong or too long. - What is the first thing you think of when you wake up?
Is it morning? I wake up often during the night. - Favorite sound?
Laughter. Especially the uninhibited laughter of a small child.More info than you wanted, right? But I'm new to this site.
