Passing a Baton

Of all the inappropriate batons to be passed to me!
Total volume of music on your computer: Absolutely none; I don’t do that.
The last CD you purchased was: I don’t think I ever did. I do receive them as gifts.
Song playing right now: Dave Brubeck – “Take Five”
Five songs you’ve been listening to a lot recently, from several genres:
- I heard four last night that I haven’t heard in some time: “The Air Force Song”; “Anchors Aweigh”; “The Marine Hymn”; and the Army song, which used to be “The Caisson Song,” but there’s no caissons in it any more. They’ve changed a lot of the lyrics.
- Lots of Bobby Darin. I never particularly liked him, but there’s a marketing thing, even on “Music of Your Life.”
- Rod Steward singing American standards. That’s a marketing thing too, but the music is better.
- Frank Sinatra – anything they want to play anytime is all right with me.
- “Firefly” – Tony Bennett and Kermit the Frog. Tickles me.
Five people to whom you’re passing the baton: I’ve got to give this back to people who really listen to something besides the radio.
Well, I think I did that right. If all these people read my page anyway, do I have to notify them particularly? I told you, this was really inappropriate for me.
